Paduak (pron pad-ook) is well known for its distinctive red colour and open pores. The wood gradually colours to brown when exposed to long periods of sunlight. Paduak comes from Africa and Asia (Myanmar), with this example coming from Africa. Finished with a wax to complement the woods natural shine, this example comes with chrome and black face.
Wooden ball clocks are turned as a sphere on the lathe and then finished. Each clock comes with a rubber ring to sit on. The clock face pops out so that the time and battery can be changed when required.
